Camu has a bitter taste. Some people like the taste of
it, but others do not. If you are just swallowing the capsules,
it probably won't make a difference to you. However, if you
like to open the capsules to use them in smoothies this might
be considered a big drawback. Pure
acai capsules without added ingredients add a pleasant
taste to smoothies so this is a great way to easily add this
food to your diet. However, most people won't want smoothies
that have a bitter taste, so those who like to use acai in
this manner might be better off with another product.
That said, multiple tests have shown that Acai Amazon Thunder is a reliable source of acai. All of the bottles tested showed a minimum of 500 mg of acai in each capsule. Since supplements are regulated the same as drugs, this is always a concern when taking supplements, so it is nice to know that this company is including what they say in their capsules. If you don't mind the expense and the possible bitter taste, you can give this product a try to see if the Camu-Camu added to the acai is worth the added cost.
